Real Madrid's Beckham won't rule out Premiership return

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham hasn't ruled out a return to the Premiership.

Speaking at the launch of the David Beckham Academy in London's Docklands, he admitted: "You never know what will happen. I'm from England, I started my career here and maybe I'll end it here as well."

"There will always be speculation about players leaving Madrid, particularly when the team hasn't won anything."

"None of the players take any notice of the whole Galacticos thing but critics look at the players we have at the club and want to know why it's not happening for us."

"You have to win trophies at Real and we know we're going to get criticism."

"The one year at United when we didn't win anything was tough enough. I've been lucky that I've already won so much in my career. It is a difficult time for us at the moment but I'm still very happy and believe I can win things with Madrid."

Beckham is ploughing £2.5m of his own cash into his new soccer school and will give away 10,000 free places every year to aspiring kids.

He said: "It is costing me a lot of money but if I'm going to put my name to this venture I have to show how much I really believe in it."

"People know I've earned a lot from football and now I want to give something back."

"It's a non-profit scheme and I won't make anything from it for a very long time."

"I've got no interest in going into management. It's never appealed to me and it never will. The soccer school will become my life full-time after I've stopped playing."
