Real Madrid's Beckham: Still getting used to Spanish life

Real Madrid ace David Beckham says Spanish Liga refs are still getting used to his approach to games.

Beckham has picked up his share of warnings and bookings from La Liga refs this season, but insists: "I've picked up cards because I'm coming from England. It's a different style in Spain and the referees are perhaps not used to it."

"Perhaps the referees see me make tackles and think that it is more than what it really is. I hope to adapt because you must if you're going to survive, if I don't not then things will begin getting difficult for me, although I am going to try and change."

Beckham also revealed how the presence of Carlos Queiroz as Real's trainer this season has also assisted him.

"What has helped me most with the trainer is the language. If I had come to Madrid with Vicente del Bosque, I am not sure if we could have communicated properly."

"Queiroz speaks very good English and he has helped me alot because he can explain things."

"My Spanish is very limited. I've been concentrating on moving to my new house and haven't had the time to concentrate on learning the language. But now I am going to study without any distractions. I am going to learn Spanish every day."
