Real Madrid's Beckham: I was never joining Barcelona

Real Madrid ace David Beckham is convinced that Barcelona's humiliation at Malaga this week will have no bearing on tonight's clash.

Barca welcome Real to the Nou Camp on the back of a 5-1 thrashing by Malaga. But Beckham says: "I don't believe that the five goals Barcelona conceded will affect them today because I believe that in these games, Madrid-Atletico or Madrid-Barca, past results have no influence, these games are completely different, they're one-offs."

Asked about taking corners at the Nou Camp, Beckham also told AS: "My teammates have told me about last year when Figo had missiles thrown at him and the game was suspended. I also saw it on television."

"But I have no doubts. I am going to take the corners. I like the pressure, I love the big games, the 100,000 crowds. Its why you play football."

On his potential move to Barca in the summer, Beckham said: "I only found out from friends while I was on holiday. Barca were talking with United, but I wasn't happy because no-one told me about it."

"But I made it very clear, if I was to leave United it would be only for one club - Real Madrid."
