Real Madrid's Beckham hasn't spoken to Man Utd boss in months

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham says he hasn't spoken to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson since the final day of last season.

"I can't remember when I last spoke to him - probably after the Everton game," admitted Beckham.

"I have moved on now and so have Manchester United."

Beckham also insisted he would continue to live his public life, despite Real Madrid management's strict off-the-field expectations. "I always wanted to be a well-known footballer and the things that come with that are an amazing bonus," he said.

"I have put myself in this position and if jumping off the merry-go-round meant I had a quiet life but couldn't play football, I wouldn't do it."

"You have to be mentally strong to deal with it but I have always been sure of what I was going to do and that includes the transfer. There was a point when I had to make a decision and I was totally in control of that."
