Real Madrid's Beckham has swipe at Man Utd boss

Real Madrid ace David Beckham has slammed Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for not phoning him since his departure from Old Trafford.

Beckham, 28, said: "This was a man who I really respected. He gave me the opportunity to become the player I am by playing for Manchester United."

"He still hasn't spoken to me. We spoke briefly at a funeral. He hasn't rung me . . . I really would have thought that would have happened. I just expected a bit more respect when I had been at the club for that many years."

He also said in the ITV documentary the Real Beckhams: "I thought he would call me to explain why I wasn't in his plans any more and speak to me after I joined Real Madrid."
