Real Madrid's Beckham cools Premiership return talk

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham insists he isn't angling for a return to the Premiership following the resignation of president Florentino Perez this week.
 
The England skipper, 30, has had talks about a new contract and said: "The Perez situation does not affect me."

"I've got one more season after this one and have been told, not just by Florentino, they want me to stay."

"I won't know if that's changed until I get back to Madrid."

"My future might get sorted before the World Cup, it might not."

"I want to thank Florentino for giving me the chance at such a great club."

"I'm disappointed he's going. The Galactico era will go down in history for him."
