Real Madrid's Beckham clears air with Luxemburgo

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham held talks with coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo on Thursday to discuss his substitution the previous evening against Lyon.
 
To media on Thursday morning, Becks contradicted Luxemburgo's explanation for the change, insisting his back was not hurting him.

But later in the day Beckham told media at Real's training HQ his injured back was the reason for his substitution. During the meeting with Luxe, Beckham assured his coach he did not want to add fuel to the fire and would address the media about his injury.

Zinedine Zidane also said yesterday: "Beckham was replaced because he was injured."
