Real Madrid Robinho concern as Chelsea given opening

Real Madrid's bid to bring Santos winger Robinho to Spain is being threatened by a row over the youngster's registration.

Santos and Robinho's agent, Juan Figer, currently share the player's registration and its emerged they're both listening to rival offers from management groups interested in buying into the Brazil international.

Real have been monitoring developments from a distance and so far have remained calm. But they know if the owners of Robinho's transfer rights should change, their agreement with Santos could be worth nothing - leaving the door open to Chelsea to come in with a rival bid.

Real have reached a preliminary agreement of £8 million with Santos for Robinho, who despite the controversy over his registration, is expected to move to the Madrid giants in July when his Copa Liberatores commitments are over.
