Real Madrid resigned to losing Gerrard to Chelsea

Real Madrid fear they will be beaten by Chelsea for Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard at the end of this season.

The England ace has been made a priority summer target by Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and president Florentino Perez was hopeful that his good relationship with the midfielder's agents would clinch his signature.

But the Daily Star Sunday says Real chiefs have received word that Chelsea are in a strong position to land Gerrard should the Anfield hero decide to leave Liverpool in the summer.
