Real Madrid reserve side Castilla relegated

Real Madrid reserve team Castilla were relegated from the Spanish second division on Saturday despite a 3-1 victory over already promoted Almeria.

Castilla, who are coached by former first team player Michel, join Ponferradina, Lorca and Vecindario to complete the quarter of teams that will drop down to the regionally-based Segunda A league (third division).

Valladolid, who were promoted to the top flight at the end of April, wrapped up the second division title without having to play thanks to Almeria's defeat.

Dimitri Piterman's Alaves, who won 2-1 at Lorca, narrowly escaped the drop together with another former Primera Liga side Las Palmas.
