Real Madrid reject Newcastle approach for Owen

Newcastle United have had a shock approach for Michael Owen turned down by Real Madrid.

The News of the World says Newcastle tried for Owen during their pursuit this month for a new striker.

Owen's future has been clouded since the arrival of new coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, but Newcastle's inquiry was dismissed by Real officials.
