Real Madrid Reject Munitis ''Happy To Play Football Again''

Pedro Munitis said he was delighted to be back at Racing de Santander after spending two unexciting seasons with Real Madrid - mostly on the bench watching his team-mates.

"It's good to be back", he told Spanish sports daily Marca. "I feel like a football player again now. It's a relief to be part of something again. And not to mention: I'm at home here in Santander".

"I don't feel I have anything to prove to anyone at Racing. With all due respect, I can say I prefer to be a key player here than a mere substitute at Real Madrid", the winger said.

Munitis joined to years ago after a superb Liga season with Santander. He also took part to Spain's Euro 2000 campaign before moving to Real, where he enjoyed little success in his two years with the Merengues.
