Real Madrid reject Inter Milan offer for Salgado

Real Madrid have rejected an offer from Inter Milan for right-back Michel Salgado.

Salgado's agent, Gines Carvajal, introduced the offer to Real directors over the weekend, but it received short shrift.

Only last year, amid serious interest from Chelsea, Salgado renewed his contract through to 2010 with Real Madrid and is one of the first names on coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's team sheet.

Indeed, Zinedine Zidane described Salgado last season as "Real Madrid's most important player".
