Real Madrid ready with £42M bid for Man Utd's Van Nistelrooy

Real Madrid are ready to break the bank to tempt Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy to Spain.

Van Nistelrooy declared yesterday that he had no intention of leaving United over the summer, but that won't put off Real, which are willing to offer him a massive £5 million-a-year contract.

The Sunday Express also says Real will offer United £42 million for the Dutchman as they seek to freshen up their squad for next season.
