Real Madrid ready to smash world transfer record with stunning £100m deal for Chelsea's Eden Hazard

Real Madrid are ready to make Eden Hazard the first £100million footballer.

The Spanish giants have long been linked with the Chelsea playmaker and Real boss Zinedine Zidane has spoken publicly of his admiration for the 26year-old.

Now, according to The Sun, they have firmed up their interest.

Talks are said to have already been held between Real chiefs and Hazard’s camp and a world record transfer bid is set to tabled.

The former Lille man has enjoyed an outstanding season for Chelsea, scoring 17 goals in 42 appearances, and played a pivotal role in their Premier League title success.

Hazard has insisted he is happy at Stamford Bridge and played down speculation over his future but Real believe the chance to play under his footballing idol Zidane – plus the prospect of a huge pay rise - will be too hard to resist.

Real Madrid are also determined to land another Premier League star this summer - Manchester United's David de Gea.

They have made a £60million bid for the Spain international.

Madrid’s offer is more than three times the amount United shelled out for the Spanish number one back in 2011, and almost double the current record fee for a goalkeeper.

United are understood to have rejected the offer and are determined to hang on to the 26-year-old, but Real are expected to make a fresh attempt to lure him away from Old Trafford.
