Real Madrid are ready to sell Julio Baptista to Roma.

Sport says with a deal now struck between Real and Hamburg for midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, that clears the way for Baptista to complete a move to Roma.

Baptista has already struck personal terms with the Italian club, which has set an August 15 deadline to find agreement with Real over a fee for the Brazilian.
