Real Madrid ready to offer Owen for Man Utd's Ferdinand

Real Madrid are willing to offer Michael Owen in a swap for Manchester United contract rebel Rio Ferdinand.
 
The People says the sensational swap deal would see England's No.1 striker get the first-team status he craves and turn Rio into Real's defensive saviour.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen on pairing Owen with Wayne Rooney next season and he knows Ferdinand's future at Old Trafford is in real doubt.

Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo hit out at Owen last week, barking: "We are always talking about Michael Owen going to leave. It's like Luis Figo, you can't have the attitude that you will only stay if you are playing."
