Real Madrid ready to give up on Eden Hazard chase

Real Madrid have received no luck on their hunt for Eden Hazard, which is why there are claims Los Blancos will give up on their pursuit.

Eden Hazard is a Premier League superstar, with many tipping him to be the best player in the league. This is why it came as no surprise when Real Madrid were keeping a keen eye on the Belgian.

However, after careful consideration from the Real Madrid board of directors, the deal may not go ahead because they feel the transfer is unnecessary. The news has arisen from Daily Mail.

It’s believed that the board are huge advocates of Marco Asensio, the 21-year-old superstar. They have a lot of faith in the Spaniard, and they believe that bringing in Eden Hazard will stagnate his development.

It seems a strange call, following recent rumours that he had turned down a contract with Chelsea. Many would have taken this as clarification that he wants the move to the Spanish capital, but strangely, the feelings aren’t mutual.

Marco Asensio has contributed to 7 goals this term for Real Madrid. To put that into perspective, it’s the same amount as Eden Hazard in 3 less appearances, including 4 less starts.

With that being said, it gives more justification to the heavy faith that Real Madrid have in the Spaniard, but it will take a lot more to justify the reasoning for letting a superstar like Eden Hazard fall through the clasp.

Fellow versatile attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has recently been linked with a move back to his former club Manchester United, so Eden Hazard could have taken his place if that were the case. However, this shock twist could be considered as an indication that Ronaldo will be staying in the Spanish capital.
