Real Madrid put aside £60M for transfers

Real Madrid's board have put aside a massive £60 million for team strengthening this summer.

Club chiefs have already drawn up a realistic shopping list for the summer, with five names dominating thoughts.

AS Roma skipper Francesco Totti, plus teammates Walter Samuel and Emerson, are joined by Valencia stopper Roberto Ayala, Real Sociedad midfielder Xabi Alonso and Mallorca striker Sammy Eto'o on Real's list.

The priorities are to strengthen the defence with Samuel and Ayala, plus add a midfield anchor in Alonso to next season's squad.
