Real Madrid primed to raid Chelsea with £80m bid to boost Abramovich's transfer budget

Real Madrid reportedly remain on course to sign Eden Hazard this summer in a move that would greatly boost Chelsea's transfer kitty.

Hazard, 25, is said to have been on Real's radar for some time.

He won the PFA Player of the Year award last season but this term his performances have slumped.

The Belgium international has scored just twice for the Blues all season, leading to fears he could be offloaded this summer.

And even a recent improvement on the pitch does not appear to have dissuaded the Chelsea hierarchy that Hazard is available for sale at the right price.

According to The Sun, Chelsea will demand £80million for their star man and Real will likely match that offer.

The Bernabeu club have a two-window transfer ban looming and are reportedly keen to bolster their squad before that comes into effect.

FIFA imposed the embargo on Real after they were found to have breached rules regarding to signing of players under the age of 18.

City rivals Atletico Madrid also face the ban, which both clubs have appealed against and which therefore will not likely come into effect until 2017.

The Sun add that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to give his new manager £130m to spend on new players this summer - a good chunk of which would come from the Hazard sale.

Everton defender John Stones and Arturo Vidal of Bayern Munich have both reportedly been earmarked by technical director Michael Emenalo and bids are expected.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte's agent is said to be in London today to finalise a deal for the Italy head coach to succeed Guus Hiddink at Chelsea after Euro 2016.
