Real Madrid pressure Liverpool over Gerrard deal

But there has still been NO contact from Reds bosses, despite their star midfielder urging them to make a move a week ago.

The player and his agent, boss Rafa Benitez and Kop chief executive Rick Parry have all returned from their holidays - but Gerrard is baffled by the club's silence.

The England star still has two years left on his current £60,000-a-week deal.

Benitez, while publicly insisting he wants him to stay, knows the only way he can afford all his summer targets is by cashing in on his prized asset now.
