Real Madrid president: We back Luxemburgo

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has given coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo a vote of confidence.

After admitting his admiration for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger earlier this week, Perez said last night: "Luxemburgo has our full confidence."

"There are not many trainers in the world who can coach Real Madrid."

"The team has suffered this season because of injuries. Before the injuries we played the best football in Spain, later we suffered because of 12 injured players - that's the reason for the inconsistency, end of story."
