Real Madrid president: Title won't escape our grasp

Real Madrid are back at the top of the Spanish Liga after a crushing 4-0 defeat against city rivals Atletico yesterday.

Real Sociedad fell at Celta Vigo, allowing Madrid to move two points clear at the top of the standings.

Two goals each to Ronaldo and Raul stunned Atletico at the Vicente Calderon.

Afterwards, Real trainer Vicente del Bosque said, "We won this game in the first hour. We knew what was going on at Celta Vigo, but were focused on what we had to do here."

"It's still possible that we could lose next week. We cannot rule anything out."

Real president Florentino Perez had a swipe at Atletico, "Atletico Madrid did not gamble and weren't ambitious - and they paid for it."

"The truth is it would be a new experience if we lost the Liga at home. I don't think we can lose the title now. It won't escape from our grasp."
