Real Madrid president raps Arsenal over Reyes price

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has threatened to pull out of talks with Arsenal for striker Jose Reyes.
 
Calderon has slammed the Gunners for holding out for £16.5m. He also revealed landing Reyes, 22, is no longer boss Fabio Capello's priority as the Spanish giants go all out to sign Lyon's Mahamadou Diarra.

He said: "We're pushing for Diarra under orders from Capello. Reyes will only come if Arsenal accept our conditions."

"I'm not going to waste a single euro. I'm sorry for the lad if the deal doesn't work out."

"But we have no agreement with him to sign him at all cost. Arsenal have the final word."

Reyes, who arrived for £10.5m from Seville in January 2004, is desperate to quit the Gunners after failing to settle in London - and is pleading with boss Arsene Wenger to sell him.

He said: "If we do not reach an agreement, it would be something bad for Arsenal and me."

However, the wantaway Spain star now faces the prospect of missing out on his dream move.
