Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is pushing to open new contract talks with Fabio Coentrao.

El Confidencial says Perez will seek to open negotiations with Coentrao's agent, Jorge Mendes.

Coentrao's form has impressed the Real board in recent weeks and his friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo is also a factor in Perez wanting to keep him on.
