Real Madrid president Perez: Fans decided Luxemburgo axing

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez spoke for the first time about the sacking of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo while in the UAE.

Perez is in Dubai as guest of club giants Al Jazira and was asked about Luxemburgo's dismissal: "Our trainer did good work, we respected that work a lot, but the fans of the club want results."

"At Real Madrid it is not enough to be second and our only reality is to win the title."

He added: "We are not in crisis. Our players are strong, but the team must do far better in the next weeks."
