Real Madrid president makes personal bid for Roma duo

Real Madrid are in talks with AS Roma over star pair Walter Samuel and Emerson.

Real president Florentino Perez is offering striker Fernando Morientes, plus cash, for the duo and has had his terms already made clear to Roma in the last week.

However, Roma are demanding 50 per cent co-ownership for Morientes and £6 million for Emerson alone, as they are in advanced talks with Chelsea over Samuel.

Chelsea are offering £15 million for Samuel and it is straight cash deals that Roma are favouring given their financial problems.

Perez made a personal move for the players yesterday and held talks with Roma officials in the afternoon.
