Real Madrid president: I want Beckham here for life

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits he's desperate to see David Beckham sign his new contract.

The ex-England captain, who was outstanding last night against Dynamo Kiev, is baulking at committing to a new Real contract and could quit the Santiago Bernabeu for nothing in the summer.

"He is someone that you automatically warm to," said Calderon. "He has never protested about his situation."

"If it was up to me, I would sign him with Real for life."
