Real Madrid president discusses Arsenal's Vieira with Camacho

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez discussed the possibility of signing Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira with coach Jose Antonio Camacho yesterday.

Real are in the market for a new midfielder after being snubbed by AS Roma's Emerson last month. Perez is also on record stating he'd still like to sign a new galactico this summer.

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood says they will resist any approach from Real for their captain, insisting any offer will be "treated with contempt".

Perez is also interested in Real Sociedad midfielder Xabi Alonso, but his £12 million price-tag is regarded as far too high.

Meanwhile, Perez also discussed with Camacho the futures of fringe players Rubén, Oscar Miñambres, Borja, David Aganzo and Alberto Celades - who are all regarded as up for sale.
