Real Madrid president denies interest in Barcelona's Eto'o

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has rubbished Samuel Eto'o's claims that he snubbed a move to the Santiago Bernabeu to join Barcelona.

"The only offer he had was the one from Barcelona and we did not act on our right to make a bid of our own," insisted Perez last night.

Meanwhile, Barca coach Frank Rijkaard insists he hasn't been surprised by the sensational impact of Eto'o over the past two weeks.

"He is intelligent and he knows how to vary his position. In addition, once he understands the tactical disposition of the team, he will improve even more," said the Dutchman.
