Real Madrid president confident Becks will reject Chelsea

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is confident David Beckham will remain with the club for as long as they want him.

Beckham has fast emerged as the No1 target for big-spending Chelsea, with press speculation suggesting an approach will be made in January about a summer return to England for the midfielder.

However, Perez is understood to have already discussed the situation with fellow directors and all are convinced that the prestige of playing for Real is too great for Beckham to give up.

The England skipper is delighted after the first weeks of his move to Spain and is happier than he has been for sometime in his football life.
