Real Madrid president Calderon warming to Capello stay

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is indicating that he's ready to carry on with coach Fabio Capello next season.

With Capello's team now leading the Liga table, Calderon has all but ditched plans to replace the Italian and said last night: "When I contracted him, I knew that we were bringing a trainer to the club, who would change the negativity that had been hanging over us."

"I was always convinced that we could win the Liga. We must continue with the same intensity and, if we do, it will be difficult not to win the title."

"The players are very united and have great commitment to eachother. The fans have been turned around. Not many of us have experienced anything in the Bernabeu like the victory on Saturday (against Espanyol)."
