Real Madrid president Calderon rejects Villa offer

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has rejected an offer to sign Valencia's unsettled strike-star David Villa.

AS says an intermediary representing Villa's agent, Jose Luis Tamargo, made contact with Calderon yesterday and offered the striker for £35 million.

However, Calderon informed the agent that he wasn't interested in signing Villa - and certainly wouldn't be doing so through the process he was presenting - as Real have a 'non-aggression' pact with Valencia.

Tamargo has denied the reports, insisting: "I do not need an intermediary to speak with Calderon. I know him personally."
