Real Madrid president Calderon itching to announce Gago deal

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is itching to announce the signing of Boca Juniors midfielder Fernando Gago.
 
The Argentine is expected in Madrid by the end of the week to finalise his move, with Real having already tabled an offer of £11 million for his services.

"They tell me that it is very close, but I do not want to do what I did with Kaka. For that reason I still cannot assure you that he will come," said Calderon. "Those that are negotiating tell me that everything is very advanced."

"If everything goes well, I hope that we soon reach an agreement with (Boca president Mauricio) Macri."

"The player already has showed his decision is to come here to several in the mass media. And Capello and his assistants have told me that he is going to be very useful for us in the centre of midfield."
