Real Madrid president Calderon happy to silence doubters

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is happy to prove the doubters wrong after last night's 2-0 victory over Osasuna.
Real are now just two points off the Liga summit and Calderon, who was mocked last month when insisting his team would win the title this season, declared: "People did not believe in my optimism and although things were not good I was convinced we could do something important. It is possible and Real Madrid always has done great things. Winning the championship this season can be one of them."

He added: "Everything is very competitive in this Liga because there are many teams of a good level, but the important thing is that we are in the fight for the Liga."
