Real Madrid president: Beckham contract closed within weeks

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has revealed he hopes to tie down David Beckham to a new contract in the next fortnight.

Talks between the player and club have dragged on for over a year, but Calderon said last night: "In the next 15 or 20 days it will be solved, because as much as Fabio Capello as the club is very happy with the player."
