Real Madrid president bans Cristiano Ronaldo’s trips to Morocco

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly forced Cristiano Ronaldo to end his weekly escapes to Morocco due to his relatively poor performances as of late.

According to El Espanol, the Madeira-born forward has to stop seeing his friend Badr Hari, who he visits in Marrakech every afternoon Monday to Thursday – leaving after training in the morning and returning to Madrid in the evening.

The Portuguese has struggled to consistently find his best form in recent weeks, and Perez has lost his patience, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

Perez has also apparently entrusted the help of Moroccan king and close friend Mohamed VI in order to help enforce the travel ban on Real Madrid’s prized asset.

The Portuguese international ended a two-game goal drought by scoring twice in Los Blancos’ 5-1 win over Sporting Gijon last Sunday but he has failed to reach the level of performance which has seen him win three Ballon d’Or’s since 2008.

That being said, the 30-year-old has still scored 16 goals in La Liga for Madrid this season and is their joint top scorer with Karim Benzema in the Spanish top-flight.

Zinedine Zidane’s men are still only in third place in the table and are four points off league leaders Atletico Madrid. This weekend they face Real Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on Sunday evening.
