Real Madrid president accepts Helguera departure

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admits Ivan Helguera is likely to be leaving this summer.

Helguera is wanted by Valencia and Calderon said: "It seems that he wants to leave and we are talking with him. We have four central defenders for this season and if he believes he must look elsewhere then I must just be grateful to him for what he has done for Madrid.

"Last season was a complicated situation and in the end he played almost 30 games and gave a lot to us."
