Real Madrid prepare bid for Feyenoord skipper Kuyt

Real Madrid are preparing a bid for Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt - on recommendation of Ruud Gullit.

Gullit was contacted by Real GM Arrigo Sacchi last month about Kuyt, who he worked with while coach at Feyenoord.

The Dutchman gave Kuyt the thumbs up and Sacchi has recommended his signing to the Real board in the event Raul does not recover from his knee injury.

Real have several names on a shortlist of replacements for Raul, including Roma striker Antonio Cassano, but Kuyt has emerged as the Madrid giants' No1 choice.
