Real Madrid ponder taking Garay early

Real Madrid will have to cough up around £750,000 if they're to immediately take Racing Santander defender Ezequiel Garay for next season.

Real landed Garay last month and had agreed to send him back to Racing on a 12-month loan. However, the ankle injury suffered by Fabio Cannavaro has fueled talk that Real will insist on Garay staying next term in Madrid.

If they decide to push through with the option, Real will have to pay a penalty fee.
