Real Madrid play it cool after Roma whitewash

Real Madrid ace Zinedine Zidane played down his team's stunning 3-0 win at AS Roma last night.

A double from Guti and a Raul strike earned Real a clear victory to again reinforce Serie A's fall from the top of the European tree.

"It was a good game, but they are only three points and it is the beginning of the competition," said Zidane.

"The result, yes, has been important, because it was obtained during a difficult trip and against a rival who happens to be one of the great favorites of the competition."

Trainer Vicente del Bosque also was matter-of-fact about the win.

He said, "We controlled the game and it was an easy victory."

"It has been a very important triumph in a good game that we have ended up dominating and playing well."
