Real Madrid 'play best football in the world', insists Malmo manager Age Hareide ahead of their Bernabeu Champions League clash

Malmo boss Age Hareide insists he is bowing out of his current job against a side that play the best football in the world – Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Hareide takes charge of Malmo for the final time on Tuesday as they take on Madrid at the Bernabeu knowing it's already too late to progress to the next stage of the Champions League.

Malmo can still ensure Hareide, who has been in charge for almost two years, leaves the club with a Europa League place secured but the 62-year-old admits it will be a tough task.

"We have to be well organised. Real Madrid are already qualified but they will play to win," Hareide claimed in his pre-match press conference on Monday.

"We know it will be difficult but we will try and get the point we need (to potentially take third place and qualify for the Europa League)."

"Today I just want to get what I have received all the time at Malmo – 100 per cent from the players and the fans."

Former defender Hareide, who played for both Manchester City and Norwich, led his side to a fifth place finish in the Allsvenska this season.

He won the Swedish title with Malmo in 2014 and admits it will be an emotional farewell in Spain.

"Football is emotions and tomorrow there are more to come," he said. "I will continue following this team as a supporter."

"I don't want to think of this as my last match with Malmo, just to see it as a normal game. It has been a fantastic journey for two years."
