Real Madrid plan attack for Juventus No1 Buffon

Real Madrid are chasing Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon - for season 2005/06.

The 26 year-old's contract will expire in 2006, which has led Real to weigh up a move next summer for the Italian international.

Real are confident they can land Buffon once he enters the final year of his contract and would expect the goalkeeper and his advisors to put pressure on Juve to sell him.

Real No1 Iker Casillas is still rated highly by the club, but the opportunity to sign Buffon, regarded as the best in the world, will be explored by the Spanish giants over the next 12 months.
