Real Madrid pair Cassano, Raul Bravo suffer Capello humiliation

Italian clubs are ready to move in after Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello axed Antonio Cassano and Raul Bravo from his training yesterday.

In a sensational decision, Capello ordered the pair to train on their own as he took the rest of the squad for their morning training drills. Raul Bravo and Cassano did laps of the training pitch before working with third-string coach Toni Grande.

Cassano later approached Capello as the coach began organising a bounce game, only to be told be wasn't needed. Raul Bravo was informed of the same.

Fiorentina and AC Milan are interested in Cassano, but for now the Italian striker has intimated he wants to play out the season in Spain. Capello's treatment of Raul Bravo has surprised many observers after Real management assured the left-back of his future only in October. Raul Bravo is contracted to Real until 2009 and Roma are expected to come in for the ex-Leeds United defender.

Capello's decision to freeze out Raul Bravo is a clear indicator he wants to involve new Brazilian signing Marcelo as much as possible in the second-half of this season.

Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic will meet with the players, who both suffered yesterday's humiliation in front of a 500-strong watching crowd, this morning to discuss their situations.
