Real Madrid outcast on the radars of newly-promoted Premier League club

According to reports from AS, Nottingham Forest have shown interest in signing the right-back this summer. Moreover, it is said that the player would welcome a move to England.

The newly-promoted Premier League side lost their opening game to Newcastle United but bounced back strong with a 1-0 win over West Ham. The addition of Odriozola would be a big boost to Steve Cooper’s side.

Odriozola spent the last season on loan in Italy with Fiorentina, making 25 appearances in the process. He averaged over four defensive actions per game and provided two goal contributions during his spell in Serie A.

The Italians were interested in making his signing permanent. But the player’s exorbitant wages were the roadblock to the potential deal.

In a World Cup year, playing time is of paramount importance. The right-back will see no game-time under Carlo Ancelotti, and it is in his best interest to look for a new club. It would not be surprising if he took a pay cut to facilitate the same.
