Real Madrid out of Champions League.

Monaco took the victory

Real Madrid needs to focus on that they can't have a day off. Even though they came ahead in the first half with a very brilliant goal, they showed some big holes in the back.

Real was close to make a penalty, when Carlos took down a Monaco player in the field. But fortunately Collina didn't see it.

As we on Realmadrid.dk see it. Real Madrid have had some big holes in the defending lineback. And the talks of Real Madrid should buy a defender or two must again rise to the surface.

We have all the players needed for the Midfield and Attack, and their is not room for more. So our words is to drop those talks about Joaquim and others and start looking at players like Nesta, Samuel and Canavaro.

We really need to establish a defense which can hold more goals out of the net. Casillas is a good keeper, but he cannot do it alone.

Helguera, Salgado and Carlos is the most experienced players in the defence. But especially Roberto Carlos seems to have more thoughts about being a very offensive back, than being a back. He will get back home to late many times in a game, which forces the midle defense to take his position.

And it is in the middle of the defense we have big troulbe... very BIG trouble... Raul Bravo have tried to break through, but doesn't seem to get a hold on it. So now it's Mejia turn to try out. He is good though.. but needs a lot of experience to master the command in the central defense.

To many stars?

It's great that Real Madrid brings so many stars together in one team. All our respect for that. But they must learn to act as a team through out the whole game.

And they need to learn, that all the teams they meet will bring 120% more power when they meet Real Madrid than any other team.

So Madrid must be on their toes at every game. Even minor teams can bring Madrid down on their knees. Monaco succeded by closing down the defense and bringing down their midfield to help them. That made it very hard to drible the ball through. But the players should be up to it.

Real Madrid is still the best team ind the world, and will wear their jersey with proud at any time. But i think they need to focus on whats going wrong in the games.. not just how they can score more goals.. lets prevent them too in our own end.

In the end

Instead of winning both Primera, Del Rey and Champions League, we seem to end up loosing them all.

Is Carlos Queiroz the right one to guide the team? Will he still be the coach tomorrow?

Is it possible to get the board to focus on the defense instead of the midfield and attack? We really need that... And this seasons games should prove that point. You can't win Champions League without the defense working properly.

Hopefully we will take this seasons hard learned experiences with us to the next season so we can kick some good old-time ass and win all 3 ;-)
