Real Madrid Open Contract Extension Talks With Hierro

According to Spanish sports daily Marca, Fernando Hierro has already entered talks with Real Madrid about an extension of his current deal with the Merengues.

The veteran defender claimed yesterday he wanted clarification on his future with Real by December. Real set the same deadline to strike a deal with the player, who is looking to clinch a two-year extension.

Jorge Valdano said Real wanted to cling on to Hierro, who is still considered a key player in defence and in the team because of his influence and experience.
