Real Madrid offered Guti for Arsenal's Vieira

Arsenal rejected a late offer from Real Madrid for their captain Patrick Vieira yesterday.

Vieira is on his way to Juventus today for £13.75 million, but could easily have been moving to Madrid after Real's offer.

Real Madrid had a late go and were prepared to offer Guti plus £8m but Arsenal wanted the cash to help build a new dynasty and Vieira turned them down anyway.
