Real Madrid offer Arsenal's Vieira £10M signing-on fee

Real Madrid have joined Chelsea in the battle for Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.

The Spanish giants are willing to offer Vieira a massive £10 million signing on fee to stay with Arsenal this season and join them next year on a Bosman.

Yesterday Arsenal's manager, Arsène Wenger, said: "Our players are definitely not for sale. The situation at the moment is that Patrick has not signed, but I am confident that he will."

However, Vieira is interested in Real's proposal, not least that moving to Spain would eliminate the difficulties that would come from accepting the offer of playing for a rival London team in Chelsea.
