Real Madrid Not Willing To Pay For Fiorentina Star Juan Vargas

Real Madrid have withdrawn their interest in Fiorentina full-back Juan Vargas, according to El Pais and Itasportpress.

The Spaniards, who spent in excess of €250 million this summer, are unwilling to meet the Viola's price-tag of €20 million.

The Peruvian has become a key figure for the Viola since joining from Catania in 2008 and is arguably having his best season yet with four goals and eight assists for the club in all competitions this season.

The player has flourished since being pushed up into a wide midfield role by coach Cesare Prandelli and helped Fiorentina to finish first in their Champions League group ahead of Lyon and Liverpool.

The report suggests Real Madrid are set to turn their attention to Brazilian international Andre Santos instead.
